Is College Too Expensive? A very popular topic these days is College tuition. For what seems to be ages, people didn’t give much attention to the cost of tuition. However, in current times theres been a dramatic change. It seems that everyday, several people are coming to the harsh realization of how high tuition has gotten over the years and they wish to see a change. In this essay, I shall attempt to cover a very serious and hard topic. I say that because in the process of finding information for this topic, there are several articles showing examples of people attacking administrations in serious anger. Little to no information was found giving an example of college staff and administration trying to defend or speak up. Although Obama has been elected to be the single most powerful human being in the world, he does not attempt to put on a cold, macho faà ¯Ã‚ ¿Ã‚ ½ade. He refers to his wife as â€Å"the love of my life†, and, clearly getting emotional, he tells his girls, â€Å"I love you both more than you can imagine† and promises them a new puppy when they move into the White House. He also refers to his grandmother, who had died the night before, which invokes sympathy and appeals to the emotions of those listening and watching him. Towards the end of his speech, Obama repeats his most famous line, which the crowd has been shouting at him all night, and which sums up his story and message in three words: â€Å"Yes we can.† In my opinion, these words, and the whole of Obama’s speech, hold a promise of change which America now has a chance of keeping. Truman didnt allow enough time to study the effects of the bomb, and his hasty decision resulted in a horrific number of deaths, as well as long-lasting and unforseen effects both for Japan and for the rest of the world. Truman was attempting to bring an end to conflict, but he did not consider that dropping the bomb might be dangerous for the long term security of our world. In this essay I plan to argue that Trumans decision was made out of fear rather than necessity, and that his rash decision caused more harm than good. On August 6th, 1945, the United States dropped the first nuclear bomb ever used in war on Hiroshima, Japan. Only three days later, the second and last nuclear bomb ever used in war was dropped on Nagasaki, Japan. These two bombings ended World War II in Asia, or the Pacific theater of operations. On August 15th, 1945, nine days after the first bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan surrendered unconditionally to the United States and its allies. The decision of American leaders to drop the bombs was a very rash choice. Not only was Trumans decision to drop the first bomb hasty, but the United States waited just three days to drop the second bomb on Nagasaki. Truman did not allow nearly enough time for the Japanese to surrender before attacking again. Also, President Truman didnt even know about the atom bomb when he was vice president; he found out after he was sworn in as president. He obviously didnt know enough about the bomb or its effects to make an educated decision. Trumans decision was also rushed because he feared Japan as an enemy.
